What is an Intermediate Zimbogi?
An intermediate Zimbogi can do crow, a headstand, all the common poses without much cueing, 2 or 3 types of pranayama and can quiet their mind during savasana.
While almost all the flows/classes are ‘all level’ I do occasionally make a flow specifically for advanced or intermediate yogis. Usually I make up the flow ‘in the moment’ by watching the class and adjusting to their needs and abilities. However, I do have a few prepared ‘Intermediate Flows’. See below:
There is more than one way to know you’ve become an intermediate Zimbogi. Some key markers are amplifying common moves during Vinyasa / Zimboga flows.
Transition: Down-dog to Mountain – Spicing up a Sunny. This is upper level intermediate. It has floating to Crow, and a Headstand into Side Crow.
Transition: squat to feet. Below is an interesting way to rise up to Standing. Flamingo is commonly done from Malasana (Yogi Squat) or Skandasana (Side Lunge). From Flamingo you can transition to Birds of Paradise and then back into WII and from there so many more postures are available…
Transition: back of mat to front. This one below is a way to spice up a Sunny. Choose to ‘Float to Crow’ rather than jump to Mountain.
Transition: Zimboga Flow. This amplification is a nice way to ‘add heat’ (cardio) to a Vinyasa Flow. Expect to see this in almost every flow class.
Outside of transition moves, there are intermediate postures. Master these arm-balances and inversions as part of being an intermediate Zimbogi.

Flamingo Flow Fun – a little block package that can be inserted into any flow class.
Transition: floating feet to hands.
